Emil Bach House
7415 North Sheridan Road, Chicago, IL 60626
Architecture
Emil Bach House was built in 1915 for an admirer of Wright’s work, Emil Bach, co-owner of the Bach Brick Company.
Working in the brickyard with his four brothers, Emil Bach had breathing problems which he treated by walking out to his back porch down to the lake every day and swimming in Lake Michigan, one block away. At the time, there were no structures between the house and the lake, so that Mr. Bach and his family had a full view and easy access.
The house used to be available for overnight rental but has been closed to the public since the end of 2023.
