The course was designed by Charles Maddox to present a variety of golf alternatives so that golfers may select the tees most appropriate for their ability.
The course opened in 1971 on land donated by Seth B. Atwood. The large stone family homestead has been remodeled and serves as the Clubhouse and Pro Shop.
