Macombopoly (The World's Largest Monopoly Game) Celebrates its 1 Year Anniversary on May 9, 2025
Come celebrate a momentous occasion - the 1 Year Anniversary of Macombopoly's unveiling in Macomb's Historic Courthouse Square! After 6 years of development, on May 9, 2024, the city officially opened an attraction unlike any other - the World's Largest Monopoly Game! Macombopoly pays tribute to the game's inventor, Lizzie Magie, who was born in Macomb, IL in 1866.
To play this interactive, life-size board game set up in downtown Macomb, individuals can scan a QR code to play the game on their phone. Throughout the game, participants can also answer trivia questions, and possibly win coupons to local businesses. The board features live-size statues of the game pieces, and the Macomb-born creator, Lizzie Magie.
