Support our nation’s heroes and their four-legged companions at the inaugural Operation Trooper 5K in Herrin, Illinois! Hosted by Down the Leash Service Dogs, a veteran-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit, this unique 5K Run/Walk is more than just a race, it’s a “paw-sitive” step forward for veterans and their service dogs.
The day kicks off with packet pick-up at 9 AM, followed by a moving Color Guard ceremony and the National Anthem at 10:30 AM. The race officially begins at 11 AM, welcoming runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to hit the pavement in support of a worthy cause. All proceeds go toward providing a safe, empowering environment where veterans learn the skills to train and bond with their service dogs.
After the race, stick around for the awards ceremony, live music, and an atmosphere of community, compassion, and celebration.
