39th Oregon Candlelight Walk

The Oregon Candlelight Walk returns for its 39th year, filling downtown Oregon with the holidays' sights, sounds, and spirit. This beloved tradition invites families and visitors to enjoy an evening stroll through twinkling lights, festive music, and classic small-town charm.

Downtown will glow with thousands of lights as the community tree is officially lit to open the celebration. Horse-drawn wagon rides carry guests through the heart of town, while the Winter Carnival offers fun for families inside the United Methodist Church. Candy Cane Lane and local “Red Bow” merchants will tempt shoppers with sweet treats, holiday specials, and unique gifts. Visitors can sip something warm at The River’s Edge Experience, snack on roasted nuts at the Nut Hut concession stand and enjoy live holiday entertainment throughout the evening.

What began as a small gathering of merchants in Conover Square has grown into one of Illinois’ most heartwarming holiday events. With shopping, lights, and festive cheer around every corner, the Oregon Candlelight Walk is a perfect way to welcome the season in Northwest Illinois.
