The event honors Native American traditions surrounding bald eagles with a variety of sacred ceremonies and entertainment. Native American food and crafts and educational activities for children. Eagles will be present for viewing at the Locks.
To celebrate the return of our national bird, the great Bald Eagle, the public is invited to the activities at the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center. Native American dancers, vendors, food, live raptors and an eagle watch, held from 10-5pm Sat and 10-5pm Sunday. Hosted by the Standing Bear Council, with entertainment both days from Hoop Dancer Johny Thor. Educational activities for all ages. Don't miss the Indian Fry Bread and Indian Tacos. In close proximity to the Civic Center, Lock and Dam 21 rangers will offer scopes for viewing of the birds in their natural setting. For more information contact See Quincy at 1-800-978-4748.
