The theatre is one of the two examples in Effingham of the Art Deco style that was popular from 1920 to 1940.
A 1930s landmark, the Heart Theatre is located across the street from the old Effingham County Courthouse. The theatre is one of the two examples in Effingham of the Art Deco style that was popular from 1920 to 1940. The cream and maroon terra-cotta tiles are a perfect foil for the neon and marquee lights. While the theatre itself is no longer in operation, it a staple of Downtown Effingham.
